As for the watch in itself, it was released in 2005. The steel case was a special edition, the titanium was a limited edition.

The first member of the Amvox Family, a modern evocation of the legendary Polaris.

The 42 mm case is strongly inspired from the Polaris, as well as the case back. The dial has some influences, too.

The weight of the titanium case is light. The watch is comfortable to wear. The simple folding buckle is made of titanium, and contributes to the comfort of the watch. Something I don't often say, as I am not a big fan of folding buckles.

The only flaw of this watch? The fact that you have to move the hands backward and forward, between 10 PM and 3 AM, to set the date. A pain, a big pain, if you have to do that 29 times before falling on the right date.

That is something you can find on the vintage JLC Alarms, too. The Cal 918 is no exception, here.

But at least, the alarm, sounding like a school bell is pleasant to listen to.

Yes, the Amvox 1 is a... Memovox!

Best,

Nicolas

I think the dial ...

goes well with the Ti case. Even the strap is a good match (original?). I can see why you dislike dates in general. I think it's a pain to set if you are off by many days, as is the same with the AP Jumbo from experience. The solution: forget there is a date or wear it when the date is close to the present one. No date watches are better right? cheers fernando

No, the original strap is in the box, unworn.Without date, it woulds have been better, indeed. ;) [nt]

Really think the Amvox 1 is a cool watch, with lots of DNA.. True, date setting is a bit cumbersome.. Having found my Amvox-1..

.. which is the special Racing model, Ti with green dial, yellow Alarm ring and black center waffle part, I am very happy.. Took me a while, but located a really nice one A nice variation, IMO: Greeting yours with my green "Kermit" Best, hs
