Nicolas (amanico) shares his nuanced perspective on the Jaeger-LeCoultre Amvox III Boutique Edition, reflecting on its evolution from the initial ceramic rose gold model to the sportier ceramic titanium version. He details the watch's impressive complications and unique design elements, inviting discussion on its place within the Amvox lineage.

When the first Amvox III was unveiled in 2008 with its 44 mm ceramic rose gold case, I had mixed feelings about it.

I was the happy owner of the Amvox I and II, and I was not very happy to see that if I wanted to add the III in my collection, I had to make some important financial efforts, as the watch was retailed a bit above 40, 000 Euros.

Indeed, it was a huge jump in price for the Amvox line. Therefore, a tourbillon in a sports watch made me wonder if it was a good concept.

But I liked its cool look, inspired, young, and the fact that it borrowed its rotor from the Master Compressor Extreme Lab One.

In 2010 or 2011, came the Amvox III ceramic platinum. Colder than the ceramic rose gold version, but more my taste. BUT... even more expensive than the ceramic rose gold!

In 2011, came a very small batch of Amvox III, in ceramic titanium, with some orange touches here and there. More sporty than the two others, very cool, and 35, 000 Euros, this time.

This is the one I want to show you, here.

Here you have a Tourbillon, a GMT, a date ( same system than the Master Tourbillon introduced in 2006, with a jump over the tourbillon between 31 and 1 ) an AM / PM indicator, and the small seconds.

The Extreme Lab One rotor with its weight in platinum.

Its dynamic look, and, cherry on the cake, its strap made in alcantara which is very comfortable.

If I didn't have to replace my Duometre Ă  Chronographe, I would have probably jumped on that one, which is, in my opinion, the last good Amvox watch made.

Still, when I think of all these Amvox, my favorite remains the Amvox II, my biggest love affair.

But this " III " is still in my mind.

What do you think about the Amvox III in general, and this Boutique Edition in particular?

Best,

Nicolas

About the Jaeger LeCoultre Amvox2 Ref. AMVOX2

The Amvox2 represents Jaeger LeCoultre's approach to contemporary sports timing, offered here in the Steel Black series configuration. This 44mm reference positions itself as a substantial automatic chronograph within the Amvox2 collection, distinguished by its monochromatic steel and black dial treatment.

The 44mm steel case houses an automatic movement and features a black dial beneath sapphire crystal protection. Water resistance extends to 100 meters, while a fixed bezel completes the case architecture. The steel construction and automatic movement provide the mechanical foundation for this chronograph reference.

This Steel Black series Amvox2 appeals to collectors seeking a modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports chronograph with substantial wrist presence. The 44mm case diameter and black dial configuration offer a contemporary alternative within the Amvox2 range, providing automatic chronograph functionality in a steel sports watch format. I agree with you. AMVOX2 for the concept, 3 for the prestige . Thank you for the shots Monsieur. Cheers, Filip

my personal favourite is the original AMVOX in Titanium. It’s a relatively simple and light watch, well constructed and very Aston Martin. I’m not a fan of the gold crown on the AMVOX 3 but the boutique edition with its red highlight is interesting.

...I still prefer the AMVOX 2 as a classical JLC with innovative “firsts”. Nevertheless the third version with its sporty tourbillon has its charms but also its price.

I would rather it have another unique innovation as a Boutique Special Edition rather than tourbillon and its price.

Orange would look better with the dial and the strap. AMVOX One for me please !
