amanico brings to light a fascinating 'forgotten' piece from Jaeger-LeCoultre's history: the Amvox II Madrid Boutique Don Ramon Numero Cinco. This article delves into the story of a limited edition that was designed but never released, offering a rare glimpse into JLC's creative process and the factors that sometimes keep exceptional watches from reaching the market. His post sparks a discussion on the allure of unreleased concepts and the unique appeal of the Amvox II line.
The Amvox2 represents Jaeger LeCoultre's approach to contemporary sports timing, offered here in the Steel Black series configuration. This 44mm reference positions itself as a substantial automatic chronograph within the Amvox2 collection, distinguished by its monochromatic steel and black dial treatment.
The 44mm steel case houses an automatic movement and features a black dial beneath sapphire crystal protection. Water resistance extends to 100 meters, while a fixed bezel completes the case architecture. The steel construction and automatic movement provide the mechanical foundation for this chronograph reference.
This Steel Black series Amvox2 appeals to collectors seeking a modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports chronograph with substantial wrist presence. The 44mm case diameter and black dial configuration offer a contemporary alternative within the Amvox2 range, providing automatic chronograph functionality in a steel sports watch format. The combination of size, materials, and dial treatment positions this reference for collectors focused on modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports complications.
I think that since the boutique lived during only one year with a lot of doubts about its profitability from the first days, very quickly JLC didn't want to release a watch dedicated to a boutique which would be closed a few months later. Anyway, I didn't remember at all this project. Thanks for the reminder. Fx
Have them change the caseback, and release it as a PPro watch! The faux patrina and dark red are striking together. Thanks for the reminder, Nicolas.
I would never buy a PVD or DLC coated watch but this color combination is fantastic, I love it. What I particularly appreciate is the ivory "patina" together with the black overall look. Then a little red touch of color and this is perfect to me. Thanks for the pics and certainly something to get inspiration from in the future. Cheers, Mark
to wear my Amvox 2 Black Ti this weekend!
for some reason the pic uploaded sideways. Here is the right pic
I think JLC will take another way. Still, I would like to see another variation of the pivoting case. In a different way... With different complications. Best, Nicolas
