Amanico revisits the Jaeger-LeCoultre Amvox II, a groundbreaking chronograph introduced in 2006, known for its unique pivoting case operation. He prompts the community to share their experiences and continued appreciation for this innovative timepiece, highlighting its enduring appeal almost 14 years after its debut. Amanico showcases his own platinum Amvox II, acquired in 2007, emphasizing its distinctiveness and personal enjoyment.

Unveiled in December 2005, introduced in the catalogue in 2006, the Amvox II revisited the chronograph, with its pivoting case. To date, it is one of the most original chronograph, at the point it is unrivaled.

Young, fresh, mad, despite almost 14 years, I wonder how many of us still have it.

I bought mine in 2007, just because the platinum version landed  a bit later than the others in the AD's window displays. But I still have it and enjoy it immensely.

What about you?

Best,

Nicolas

About the Jaeger LeCoultre Amvox2 Ref. AMVOX2

The Amvox2 represents Jaeger LeCoultre's approach to contemporary sports timing, offered here in the Steel Black series configuration. This 44mm reference positions itself as a substantial automatic chronograph within the Amvox2 collection, distinguished by its monochromatic steel and black dial treatment.

The 44mm steel case houses an automatic movement and features a black dial beneath sapphire crystal protection. Water resistance extends to 100 meters, while a fixed bezel completes the case architecture. The steel construction and automatic movement provide the mechanical foundation for this chronograph reference.

This Steel Black series Amvox2 appeals to collectors seeking a modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports chronograph with substantial wrist presence. The 44mm case diameter and black dial configuration offer a contemporary alternative within the Amvox2 range, providing automatic chronograph functionality in a steel sports watch format. The combination of size, materials, and dial treatment positions this reference for collectors focused on modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports complications.

Which version ? I don’t know, i like all three (black dial pvd case, white dial titane and white dial pvd). Maybe i prefer white version for a lot of contrast.

The ultimate drivers watch. The dial itself consisting of 25 different parts(one of the most complex dial ever) and the case alone consisting of 130 parts! One other feature of the watch that drives me crazy is that all 4 levers(2 for start and stop and 2 for reset) are mounted on a miniature stainless steel bearings (probably the smallest ever used) containing seven 0,1mm diameter balls!! A very technical, innovative, original, cool watch which I never let it go. I wish in 2020,21 will see produc

Hi Nico, looks like I still have mine in Platinum version. Not sure it’s same you are parking on car rooftop. Not good picture quality but nice and heavy on wrist. Cheers ! Gautam

Now you've got me thinking. My friendly, local AD has one available, Ti and black dial. I'll be visiting tomorrow and am limiting myself to just one watch purchase. I'd forgotten just how cool that one is! Decisions, decisions... Kent
