Aquaracer1's decision to pass on a beautiful IWC, despite its perfect fit, sparks a compelling discussion among collectors about value, patience, and alternative horological pursuits. This thread delves into the nuanced considerations that drive high-end watch acquisitions, highlighting that even a desirable piece might not be the right acquisition at a given moment. Aquaracer1's initial post challenges the community to reflect on their own 'on the fence' moments.

It’s beautiful, it fits perfectly. But must exercise patience. In 6-12 months the value proposition will be much stronger in my opinion…

Have you ever been on the fence, and passed??

New Ingenieur is great.

As of June they let you add the genius Brogioli clasp to it instead of the butterfly...a tempting proposition.

It kind of scratches the mid link of the bracelet

The white and black dial Ingenieur

Are all brushed bracelets . The aqua dial is polished in the middle. I know what you mean, but I’ve never had too much of an issue with polished center links
