In a refreshing take on personal collecting, ongopt shares his "humble collection," demonstrating a clear preference for larger timepieces and custom straps. His post offers a glimpse into a collector's journey, highlighting the joy of gifting a cherished watch while still maintaining a distinct personal style that eschews traditional dress codes.

I guess I’m heritical but I still love bigger watches. I don’t have to wear suits so anything goes for me of course of high quality. All straps are custom made except the last one. I did give my JLC Polaris to my son for his college graduation recently. I did ask him to give it back but you know he was going to say no. 🤣.

Your son must be over the moon with his (your) Polaris! Thanks for sharing, Alex

I like the aftermarket straps you’ve chosen, especially the gray/black of the grey dial Omega.

The Zenith Pilot is classic. I wish they hadn’t discontinued it and kept it as an alternative choice to their modern version

I do wear them all although the Seamaster 300 Polar gets the most time with sweats and daily work

Yep I’m a strap fan and find that most bespoke straps are superior to OEM for less money

Like the rest, I like both big pilot and the 2 seamasters!
