Jay (Eire)'s post captures the essence of WatchProSite: connecting collectors beyond the screen. His account of meeting fellow enthusiast M2, complete with wristshots of their independent timepieces, highlights the community's unique blend of horological passion and personal connection. This article delves into the discussion that followed, exploring how collectors navigate market value versus pure appreciation and the enduring value of in-person meetups.

Continuing my efforts to try and put faces with screen names over the last year or two, M2 was kind enough to take some time away from his family this morning and meet up for a quick coffee / tea.

Thanks for coming out; we will do it again with some others in NYC (or out here).

I’m traveling with my Romain Gauthier C6 and M2 has his current muse (the MB&F LM Sequential Evo) but a local upstart which we’ve seen here several times.

I’ll admit, the Evo had all my attention.  Mostly because it was far far more wearable than I’d expected.  (I think I could wear this watch).

And of course it’s a serious watch.  A real serious watch.  I know it’s down to individual taste, and one’s own wants / desire, but you cannot seriously put this watch side by side with a Nautilus or Chronometre Bleu (picking on watches I have bought myself) and think anything but the Evo slays each of them.

The Bradley Taylor is a cool watch too.  But it was really overshadowed by the MB&F.  Another time, I’ll pay more attention to it.

Some pictures (or it didn’t happen).

The BT is more my style, but who cares, really? And I certainly understand the appeal of the Evo and of your C6! Best, Emmanuel

And agreed! That watch is so weird because of how well it wears given its 44x18 (!!!) Was great checking out Gauthier. Went home and checked out listings 😂

But only so few watches? You meet Nico he brings like 30 and lays them all out nicely on the rickety table of a Parisian cafe 😁 As he’s the Vlad no one dares come close anyhow 😂👍🏻👏🏻

I have met so many wonderful people over my 40 years of collecting. I even went on a couple family vacations with a watch friend who has unfortunately since passed away.
