Perfect day for an outdoor picnic sponsored by Audmars Piguet

I nice lunch spread of cold cuts and salad

A special selection of desserts too!

Everyone was hungry after this morning’s session

But with our bellies happily filled, we were ready and excited about the AP presentation

Mr. Martin Wehrli is AP’s longest serving employee. He has dedicated 40 years to this venerable brand.

He proceeded to give a PuristS worthy summation of the history of watchmaking in the Vallee de Joux

Some interesting information was presented

Dr. Mao told us to pay attention at the beginning of Martin’s presentation and to take notes but we didn’t know why
A pop quiz with prizes from AP

Those who paid attention got the spoils

JerryW

Alex Sunshine

Rovermark who is on a roll winning stuff

Good things do come in little LV cases!

A few APs on display

I thought this was a “normal” skeletonized perpetual…but then I noticed the lever on the side!

A reality only because of TM’s passion and loyalty to the brand.

I seriously doubt that any other individual could have pulled it off. TM reminded me that it was not an individual effort but the community’s passion and support for the brand over the past 10 years: “1-7-8”
And as to the concerns regarding the price another moderator reminded me: “Miss it, Miss out for a long, long time” they will be sold out by the end of IGOTT2

I didn’t know if anything could match AP presentation. I was tired and wanted to retire back to my room or to the pool for a mental break.
But from the door I heard the lovely and energetic voice of Ms. Veysset, CEO of DeWitt.

Magnus really taught me something new about the brand with his recent posting.
I haven’t look at Dewitt since the failed relationship between Mr. DeWitt and Mr. Johner a few year back and the recent “Classic audacity” ads seemed a little gimmicky…that is until I heard the concept behind the campaign.

Mr. Omer of DeWitt showed the complete 27 parts to the PuristS P10 Tourbillon dial

Mr. Mayer showed how the small links in Dewitt’s constant force chain was made

Dewitt then challenged PuristS’ manual dexterity. Fellow PuristS tried their best to put together a few bridges.

I wonder what Ludovic was thinking about this little experiment in manual dexterity

PuristS gathered around Ms. Veysset to see DeWitt’s tribute to PuristS 10th birthday

Alright the best part of the watch is the view from the back but my battery ran out :-(
I’m burnt but it is time to change into my penguin suit for the Gala dinner
Posting again in a few hours.
Hope you enjoyed Day 1. My meager efforts today is personally dedicated to the fine men and women who have served, is serving, and most importantly those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for us.
Always remember: "freedom is not free"
Best, Mike

I will continue to check in here. Kudos to all of those who arranged this, and the brands who generously contributed to this event, and those who decided to attend. Nice community indeed. Ken
And by the looks of the AP lady, I think I have to challange my status quo on AP
Thanks Mike! Looks like some purist had some hands on fun! Congrats to the AP winners! Rover mark is really hitting on all cylinders...I should have him pick my lotto numbers!
