KIH provides a hands-on review of the Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Power Reserve 5 Days, reference 405.NX.0137.LR. This titanium limited edition of 99 pieces introduces a new 5-day power reserve indicator and a tourbillon at 6 o'clock within the Big Bang case. His detailed observations and accompanying photos offer an in-depth look at this intriguing complication.

As always, Hublot Ginza Boutique is kind enough to accommodate and give me ample time to handle and review this just-in example.  This one, I had been waiting to see in person for two reasons: new 5 days power reserve indicator on the otherwise familiar Big Bang dial, and put the tourbillon at 6h which is not new for Hublot, but in the new Big Bang case/ dial combined with the 5 days power reserve indicator was somewhat intriguing to take a closer look.  Ref. 405.NX.0137.LR, 45mm, Titanium, LE of 99 - I am sure this will go fast.

The open dial shows the densely packed movement.

Strap is as always easy-clip: push the button and you can replace the strap in a matter of seconds.

Tourbillon cage is right on 6h and relatively less conspicuous than the previous Hublot Tourbillon models.

Barrel on 12h, Power reserve indicator on 9h, tourbillon on 6h - well balanced dial design.  The open dial may make it look a bit busy, but those who like to see the mechanism all the time, this design is nothing short of "cool".

The power reserve meter shows lots of ORANGE, which means it should be wound or worn - the photo below shows that the power reserve is right now about 1.5 days.

How does it look on the wrist?  45mm Big Bang, it is.  Not too gigantic, but not too flashy.  Good proportion depending on the occasion (I wouldn't wear for an important business meeting, though smile)

As with other Big Bang, the screw-in crown has rubber around it to make it easier to screw.

Now this is the close up of the tourbillon.  Bridge is made as sturdy as other Hublot tourbillon models and the center ruby make it look even nicer.

HUBLOT logo is printed on the glass.  I also like the open pattern of the barrel right below 12h.  See the center ruby here, too?   Make is sort of horizontally symmetric.

This open dial doesn't show much of the space - very densely packed in, and finish is also well done (of course, could be better).

I am impressed with how well it is made with a very good total balance of the design.  Tourbillon, power reserve, open dial.  Simple enough with lots of complication.
Might need more "color", other than the "orange" in the power reserve indicator.  That said, this LE of 99 model will go pretty fast.

There is also a King Gold, Full Magic Gold, and All Black version, each of which are LE of 50.  If you are interested, I suggest you hurry!  Full Magic Gold or All Black must be the most popular one, I think.

Thank you, Hublot Ginza Boutique!

Best,
Ken

I am a fan of this watch... not only for the orange indicator! I had it on my wrist a few weeks back, it really is a stunning watch and from what I remember the price is not too bad either for what you are getting. I actually thought it was a little odd combination with the orange reserve and the red markers, and maybe would have liked to see some more colour or contrast on it. But I wouldn't be unhappy to own one! Cheers Andrew

ORANGE color sometimes do the wonder. Very good choice of color in this case, sans the combination with the case color. Yup, awesome piece! Ken

But I still like the watch. I just think if I were in the market for a tourbillon, I might select a different model. But this is striking, no doubt about it. Thanks Ken.
