have been batting these two around for a while. Tried the double balancier out a few times and loved it. Hoping to pull the trigger on one of them this year.  i like the frosting more on the gmt, and love the way Greubel does their gmt complication. The globe is also quintessentially Greubel to me.  With the double balancier, I love how animated it is. It looks jam packed and like a wild machine in the wrist.  Any thinky thots?

About the Greubel Forsey Double Balancier Convexe Ref. Double Balancier Convexe (e.g., GF02 movement)

The Greubel Forsey Double Balancier Convexe represents a cornerstone of the brand's relentless pursuit of chronometric precision and mechanical innovation. Emerging from Greubel Forsey's foundational research into regulating organs, the Double Balancier series showcases their commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional watchmaking. It stands as a testament to their philosophy of exploring fundamental principles to enhance accuracy, building upon their earlier work with multi-axis tourbillons by focusing on the synergistic effect of multiple balance wheels.

Technically, the Double Balancier Convexe is distinguished by its two inclined balance wheels, each set at a 30-degree angle relative to the movement's baseplate. These balances are linked by a spherical differential, which averages their rates to mitigate positional errors and improve overall timekeeping stability. The watch's design language is overtly architectural, with a multi-level, open-worked dial that provides an unobstructed view into the intricate mechanics, including the frosted bridges and meticulously hand-finished components. The distinctive "Convexe" case, with its ergonomic curvature, further enhances its contemporary appeal and wrist presence.

For collectors, the Greubel Forsey Double Balancier Convexe occupies a rarefied space within haute horlogerie. Its extremely limited production, combined with the unparalleled level of hand-finishing and genuine mechanical innovation, positions it as a highly desirable piece. It appeals to discerning enthusiasts who prioritize technical mastery and artistic execution over conventional branding, representing a significant investment in a piece of horological art that pushes the very definition of precision watchmaking.

Among these two, the second speaks louder to me, aesthetically and the complication, too.

Definitely the double balancier if I could afford it

It has a strong appeal to the pretend engineer in me!

It really is a cool idea. I wonder what the +/- is that the watch runs at.

I love the gmt

But is the double bal more wearable?

Not really

There is a newer smaller version of the GMT and both wear pretty much the same most likely due to the lack of lugs. I noticed this when trying on the single/normal balanicer, the balancier 3, and the double balancier.
