In a perennial dilemma for collectors of independent horology, m2 seeks community wisdom to decide between two horological titans: the Greubel Forsey Double Balancier and the Greubel Forsey GMT. This article distills the collective insights from the WatchProSite community, offering nuanced perspectives on the technical mastery, aesthetic appeal, and wearability that define these exceptional timepieces, helping readers navigate a choice between two of the brand's most iconic complications.

It has a strong appeal to the pretend engineer in me!
But is the double bal more wearable?
When I met Stephen Forsey I wanted to honest and not waste his time and told him that I was not his target customer, regardless he spent an hour one on one explaining to me the technical benefits of the Tourbillon on accuracy with diagrams and data. I will never forget his kindness and generosity, he is a Real Watch Guy. Much Respect to Him 🙏
I find the dial more balanced 🤗 Every element is fully legible as well the depth is elegantly filled
Both are amazing watches. So you can’t go wrong either way. And, in their current versions, they are similar in size, though the GMT is a few millimeters thicker. (Also, the diameter size is a bit misleading. Given the absence of lugs, they wear much better than you would expect on smaller wrists.) That said, to me, the double balance is one of GF’s quintessential complications, and they’ve done a remarkable job fitting it into a comfortable, wearable piece, that is simply fun to watch in action
More action and interesting to look at during the day. Much more animation. Beautiful movement finishing is seen on dial side. Both beautiful but once you get over the novelty of seeing the globe it isn’t as captivating. Ask yourself also . . . do you really need the GMT complication or is it more the aesthetics that draw you to it?
