Still my favourite Seiko and one I do not get tired of. It just exceeds all expectations - from being always interesting to look at, to having a power reserve suspiciously way in excess of the stated 55 hours, in spite of a single barrel and the High Beat movement. Not that I complain - I hardly ever need to set it, as it is always still ticking when I take it out of the box.

GS is highly understated, as you've said, and the accuracy is spot on. Comparable to quartz...almost! Thanks for the great photos as well which really shows the perspectives of what makes a GS so great! One thing I've noticed about the Grand Seiko's as compared to other watches - the movement seems to dazzle a little more with the stripes and it looks a lot deeper. May be an illusion, but one that I like very much.
You mean the stripes are deeper? Or the movement? The latter is certainly not slim
Has a nice depth to it.
As they never intended it to be thin, they could play with the added dimension...
Classis. I have been resisting getting a GS for a while, but lately, I find myself seeking them out more and more. I love the finishing and especially the feeling on the wrist.
By all means do share! Which one did you go for?
