Nicolas, known as 'amanico' on WatchProSite, shares his enduring affection for the Girard Perregaux WW.TC in white gold, a watch he owned two decades ago. His reflection highlights the model's significance in the early 2000s, particularly its sophisticated combination of world time and chronograph complications, a rarity at the time. This piece offers a nostalgic look at a watch that, despite being sold, remains a cherished memory for a seasoned collector.

That was my first Girard Perregaux. I got it in 2001. And stupidly sold it in 2005.

The only thing which bugged me was this damn date. But this is one of these watches which, even though they are gone, are still in my heart.

Maybe one day, I will get another one...

The addition of a chronograph to the world time is classy. And let's not forget that there were not that many world time watches in the early 2000's!

Best,

Nicolas

Damn good look

You had a white gold. Is it a problem to look for a stainless steel? I seen also some golden models. So it depends what i find. The Ferrari i skip. Also the F1 editions. I like the timelessness of the cream dialed ones.

explained, it is fun

Hey Gelato, Damn good look. This phrase used by a FIAT commercial a long time ago. Remember that FIAT 131 Miafore. A comfortable sedan with a fresh and pointy engine. It looks great, enough luggage space! The car was also in a take of a James Bond movie. Daniel Craig took a taxi, and that taxi was a FIAT 131. Seat produced a nephew under another model name. Have a nice day.

Nice memories

Going almost to the time out forum, talking cars. My grand father had one. I saw a commercial a long time a go about an insurance company. A FIAT 131 blown up into fire. A 3 doors saloon. Mystic car. FIAT delivered also a station wagon of the model. The famous FIAT 124 goes to Russia to live as a Lada 1200. πŸš™

And now something completely different. Let’s ad some Monty Python into WPS. ? This came into my mind: The accuracy of a mechanical watch is about many parts a movement contains. How better all is, the better the accuracy wil be. A mechanical watch have on one day a plus, precise, or minus. Depending on the mainsprings power reserve the accuracy can differ. So maybe the mainspring is the center of attention when it comes to a good accuracy rating. Other: I own at this moment only automatic windi
