Nilomis presents a classic collector's dilemma: choosing between two Girard-Perregaux sport watches, the WW.TC Ti and the R&D 01. This post invites the community to weigh in on which piece to keep, or if both should remain in the collection. His detailed comparison highlights the unique features and personal appeal of each watch, alongside shared practical considerations.

For a couple of weeks I'm facing a dilemma that I would like some advise.

I have in my possession two GP watches that I need to decide if I keep and what I should keep.

Here is the dilemma (all watches are pre-owned but in fair conditions -- full set):

1) A GP WW.TC Ti, limited edition (I could not care less about this)

Of course, my "field assistant" digs this one:

2) The second is a R&D 01 that is also limited to 18 something (again, I don't care)

Here is the dilemma: I like the two watches. The WW.TC is very cool and helps me to track the multiple time zones that I do business.

The R&D is also very cool. I love the center minute counter.

The fact that is a massive SS chunk is not a problem because it "dresses" great.

I know that the watches aren't new (the WW.TC still has "Caracas" on the dial -- newer got Puerto Rico since Venezuela changed his TZ).

I love GP sport watches because they are very well designed and they are, at least here, very rare and, that is the best part, I have a great image of GP as a company (under the radar, cool and elegant).

There are cons that are shared by the two watches.

Originally they are equipped with rubber bracelets that requires to be cut (I believe, but I don't plan to wear rubber) for proper adjustment and, the lug holes are so close from the case that is painful to swap a leather (Yes, I am a leather person) strap.

Let's hear from the team: This, that, all or none?

Thanks for seeing,

Nilo

I know only two watches to combinate WT and Chrono: JLC, and GP. A tad chunky, yes, very sporty, yes, but a pleasant and lovely watch. Best, Nicolas

I have a strong trend to the but the R&D also "sings" on my wrist. Movement wise, I understand that the two watches are a combination of a base (GP?) plus a DD chrono module. Correct? Cheers, Nilo

a keeper but I'm very biased when GP is in question :) If you MUST keep just one go after Best D

The R&D, as of now on my wrist, is SO gorgeous. Notice that I'm ignoring the BMW and Oracle on the internal bezel (I'm an Audi person since I can remember). Of course, just strapped the , is a wonder. Decisions ... Cheers, Nilo

I find the very practical if you need to track international times, plus it just looks so-o-o-o cool. Agree w/ you about the strap issue. A good strap will definitely dress up/down just about any watch. In the end, you have to make the final decision. But I don't think you can go wrong with either piece. Good luck Cheers, Frederick

The more I read you, the more I feel you can't let the RD 01 go... Best, Nicolas
