I fell on this " small " marvel, a vintage Girard Perregaux Chronograph which I would date somewhere between the 40ies or the 50ies ( ? ).

I must say that I've never seen one like this.

The case is in superb shape and condition, the snap back case hides which seems to be a Landeron movement, and the only doubt I have is to know if the dial is restored or not, as it seems flawless, but the whole Watch is in great condition, so I really don't know.

The size is perfect, around 36 and 37 mm ( I would bet on 37 mm ) .

The caseback, the dial and the movement are all signed.

Very alluring.

The funny detail is the original way you use the chronograph: the upper pushers activâtes the Chronograph, while the pusher at 4 o' clock stops and reset to zero the chrono functions.

Isn't it lovely?

Here are the photos:

Nicolas

The watch is lovely but I am not that much a fan of....

the Landeron mouvement. Thank you for the picture. Cheers my friend Francois from Down Under

I didn't know that some of the GP Chronos housed a Landeron movement.

I always thought Excelsior Park, and several Valjoux, such as the 72 or the 22. But Landeron... That is a first for me. Best, Nicolas

Agree with you Nicolas, Valjoux 72 and 22 or.....

Excelsior Park would make more sense in a Girard Perregaux watch. Cheers my friend Francois from Down Under

Well, the Valjoux 72 is very common, you see it everywhere.

Yes, true but it is a column wheel and the Landeron..

is lever activated. Not that column wheel is better than lever or cam activated but it is more refined, more type of "high end" mechanism...... and more my cup of camomille. Cheers Francois from Down Under

On that, we agree. Well seen, my friend. [nt]
