Readers will gain a comprehensive understanding of this unique travel-themed timepiece.
Friends,
You saw the press release.
You got the story of the clockmaker John Harrison.
Here is now the review of the watch – Traveller Large date, Moon-phase and GMT, John Harrison! Reference 49655-52-133-BBA.
Earlier this year we have discussed the Traveller WT.CC a lot. Both the old case and the new case.
As the name indicated this is neither a Worldtime watch nor a chronograph watch.
If we start from the top, Large date at twelve. You see a hint of that the right number, located on the left disk goes on top of the left number, which is located on the right disk. Yes, here GP uses overlapping disks, where the left disk is transparent.
On the left sub dial you have the Moon Phase surrounded by the sub second.
GMT, not a Worldtime but Dual times watch. The second time zone is located on the right sub dial. Twenty four hours display. To connect to the travel theme and John Harrison, the sub dial have the central Europe map with England marked in red.
On the inner bezel you have the minute track and the Greenwich / Tribute to John Harrison. And on the dial the Greenwich Longitude is marked on top of the Longitude / Latitude pattern.
There you have it; there you have what brings the name to this watch!
If we keep our focus on the dial: all applied details are in Pink Gold. Logo, indexes, luminous dots, frame around the Large date window, the bezel around the Dual time sub dial.
Also the hour, minute hands and the Dual time hand are all in Pink Gold. The only detail that is not, is the white second hand.
Due to the many applied details and the shape of the inner bezel, the dial gives a great depth impression.
If we zoom out a bit, we see the impressive Pink Gold case. 44 mm in diameter.
Same size as the Traveller WW.TC, but I find this case much more elegant! Not sure if it is because the lack of the pusher at two o’clock or if it is that I got used to this case.
It could also depend on the dial. Even with all these details on the dial I find this dial much cleaner and sober.
At first glance the case may come off as quite brute and unrefined… But if you look closer you will see all the care that has been put into this case. All edges and surfaces are very nicely curved and finished.
This helps a lot to make this watch very comfortable on the wrist. The aggressive downward curved lugs also help the comfort.
Inside is the GP03300-0093 automatic caliber. 4 Hz, 46 hours power reserve, 35 Jewels.
On the wrist… What can I say that has not already been said about Traveller…?
The Traveller is a watch that when you look at it laying on a table, it looks big, but on the wrist it wears much smaller! Yes, it is still a big watch, but if you close your eyes and only feel the watch…
I think your guess would be like mine, more like 40, maybe 41 mm!
One of the key is how well the watch follows the shape of your wrist.
As you can see the warm Pink gold tone changes depending on the light. Here is an indoor shot.
Such a lovely watch! With this on your wrist, you are ready for any travel!
Best

Well, we can't love them all! If we did, our life would be even more pain.... ;) Personally I find the Traveller much more elegant than the Traveller ! I have some live shots of one of the other versions that might be more "You", you lord of black... ;) Will post next week. Best Blomman
.. somehow is the first part of your functional description, also the 2nd timezone & where it is set etc ; - Guess, I should try to get a real life view & touch, someway .. Thanks for the share - will go back, and re-read the first part !.. Best, and HAGWE ! hs
Thank you, HS! Have a look at this movement shot and you will understand! :) The left transparent disk is holding the 0-9, while the right black disk holds the 0-3. As for setting the second time zone - pusher at 4... Best, my friend Blomman
