Crown comfort shares a relatable collector's dilemma: parting with a beloved watch to fund a new acquisition, only to later seek out a different iteration of the same model. This post highlights the nuanced decision-making involved in curating a collection, particularly when balancing material preferences and wrist-time considerations. The journey to re-acquire a Girard Perregaux Richeville Day/Night in steel, after selling a rose gold version, offers valuable insights into evolving tastes and the pursuit of the 'perfect' fit.

We all know the issue that sometimes it is unavoidable to part from a watch. In the best case, it is a watch that no longer is the favourite and needs to make room for new watches. Less good cases, it is needed to obtain funds.

Well, last year I let go my Rose Gold Richeville Day/Night mainly to provide some funds for a new acquisition.

However, I always did that with the plan to replace it with another Richeville Day/Night in Steel. My Gold one hardly had much wristtime as it is a big gold watch but on the other hand this model is very very charming with its unique display of time and I needed to find a better solution.

Thankfully, earlier this year, I found a good Steel Day/Night Richeville and with the help of a forum friend I was able to take possession of it yesterday.

Very happy to have this Ref back in my collection.

In fact, I think you did well, in steel it is a bomb! Bravo, my friend, bravo. Nicolas
