Another museum piece I had the fortune to see was this cross.
The art work on this piece is incredible!
Just look at these angels surrounding the enamel dial.
Again, we see enamel paintings combined with stone settings and gold engraver.
I do not even dare to guess what this watch would cost to make today…
On the back the Ave Maria is engraved and filled with enamel.
This beautiful shaped case is extra ordinary and once you start to open the case you will get an even bigger surprise!
The case is signed Girard-Perregaux, Chaux-de-Fonds, Suisse and Paris 1867.

When we lift the inner cover and reveal the movement…
Yes, the movement is specially made for this case!
A cross shaped movement. Notice the bridge shape?
Looks familiar, eh?

Yesterday afternoon I was browsing through GP catalogue :) yes I like to feel some pain from time to time :) and on the beginning of catalogue there are important pieces from GP history as well as cross you showed us In that very moment I was thinking about you my friend and asking myself how come you didn't take photos of cross while you were at the museum What I can say you really made my day amazing shots Really like the movement Yours D
