This particular week's challenge underscores the wealth of beautiful timepieces shared by members, offering a snapshot of the forum's vibrant activity and the brand's varied offerings.
Friends,
To pic the Masthead for the upcoming week is always a fun but difficult decision to make.
This week it was extra hard since so many beautiful watches entered our forum this week!
This week we saw CC’s comparison between Sea Hawk‘s:

My favorite shot from that post is this on top of each other:

TonyC’s stunning Richeville:

HS’s Traveller collage together with alarming friend:

CC’s blue/grey Laureato:

And we also had all the Novelties from BaselWorld to pic from…

We will come back to the Novelties a lot; they will get their place as Masthead soon enough!

But my choice this week is Luis’s GP Chronograph 4946!

Stunning series of macro shots of his beautiful chrono.
Congratulation Luis!
Again, Damjan predicted this… We have our own fortune teller here in the forum!
Wonder if he can tell me which my next watch will be….?
Thank you all for another great week here in the GP forum!
Next week will continue with a lot of BaselWorld news.
Stay tuned!
Best

This reference is characterized by its understated aesthetic, reflecting the prevailing design sensibilities of the era for dress watches. It offers a clear indication of Girard-Perregaux's approach to automatic timekeeping in a more compact form factor, distinguishing it from larger or more complicated offerings of the time.
The watch features a stainless steel case measuring 34mm in diameter, a size typical for men's watches of its decade. It is fitted with an acrylic crystal, common for watches of this period, providing durability and ease of maintenance. The timepiece is powered by the automatic GP Caliber 39, which provides a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. The dial is presented in a silver finish, complemented by a fixed bezel and a leather strap.
This reference appeals to collectors interested in vintage Girard-Perregaux pieces that embody the brand's mid-century design language and mechanical craftsmanship. Its straightforward date complication and classic proportions make it a versatile piece for those seeking a historically accurate representation of the brand's output. The 4946 offers a glimpse into the foundational elements that would influence later Girard-Perregaux designs.
It takes a second before you realize it is two watches! :) Best Blomman
