Blomman Mr Blue initiates a discussion on the Girard Perregaux Gyromatic, moving beyond its technical merits to explore the practicalities and aesthetics of displaying and winding these vintage automatic watches. This article delves into how collectors manage and showcase their multi-watch Gyromatic collections.
Friends,
During the last year we have seen many great examples of GP Gyromatic’s here!
But what we haven’t discussed is how to display them or how to wind them.
It is of course a personal taste of how to… But here is one way you could to do it!
Watch holders, an easy way to display your Gyromatic.
But how to wind it?
Of course you can wear your Gyromatic on your wrist and it will wind itself. Problem is if you have several….
Well, then you can always go to your “green box”…
Old, almost fainted gilt text “GIRARD-PERREGAUX, Fine watches since 1791”…
Patent pending and room for three Gyromatic’s!
The disk holding the three watches are rotating clockwise and in the same time each watch holder rotates counter clockwise…
Ah, yes! The GP Gyromatic Watch Winder. For self-winding watches.
Now I only need to get a Swedish plug and my problems are solved…!
Yes, I know I am a bit… But I do LOVE this kind of accessories to our watches!
Best

Bravo, Blomman... No, you are not crazy, the word is weak! :) This Gyromatic black indexes is top, too! Best, Nicolas
So Flash Gordon :) Love it Sincerely D
Great find, and I'm jealous! Cheers, Tony C.
1 Q: does one need to change the position (of one watch after the other) on the triangled plate, so as to vary the winding directions ? Quite remarkable instrument you\'ve got there ! Best, my friend
I am weak when it comes to these vintage "extras"! ;) Thank you, Nicolas. Best Blomman
There are so many versions of the Gyromatic especially if you also include the non-Chronometer HF so three is just the beginning! ;) Best Blomman
