Aquaracer1's quest for a specific Girard Perregaux Laureato model highlights the enduring appeal of discontinued references in the luxury watch market. This article explores the allure of the 38mm blue dial Laureato, a 'brain eater' for many collectors, and synthesizes community insights on its market value, historical context, and unique appeal. The discussion underscores the challenges and rewards of pursuing a highly sought-after, out-of-production timepiece.

I thought it was just the new copper dial that is released at that size, although I didn’t know why they chose to do that. It makes more sense now if 38 was their classic line. They should offer both sizes like Rolex does.
Very versatile, under the radar and the 38mm size is pefect. I love mine. Wish you the best in finding one soon 🙏🏻 Best, Jan
they offer it in four sizes: 44, 42, 38, and 34mm. The 44mm really surprised me.
In 2021. It was in blue, silver, black and grey. The color grey was then discontinued from both the 38 mm and the 42 mm When first release in 2017, the laureato classic was in 38 mm and 42 mm The limited edition 2016 heritage was in 41 mm. Ref 81000 While the blue is beautiful, I find the grey antracite dial 38 mm more beautiful. A few months ago, the brought back the 38 mm only in one variant. Copper dial and now with a gold rotor. Hope that helps.

I really like your Lange 1815! That's such a perfect watch! Combined with a sporty watch like this GP or The Bulgari Octo Finissimo, that'd be a perfect combination! But that Lange... Oh it's perfect!
