Friends,
A short break in all the Novelties.
Let’s take a ride back to 1968 and have a look at my first catch of the year…
The Girard-Perregaux reference 7838 with Damier dial:
At first it looks very much like the reference 7427 with Damier dial…
But if you look closer you see the 7838 has a seconds hand AND a date window!
I must confess that I like the date a lot here!
Adds some extra character to the dial…
There are more differences, but that will have to wait until I have had time to write a proper review.
Hope you all also had a great start of this year!
Best

and very interesting to see that is has a different Ref Number than my Gold Damier with Date and seconds hand (8631 W). CC
Great way to start a year my friend...looking at it this will be another extraordinary year full of pain for us Cheers D
Wear it in the Best of your health, dear friend ! Cheers, hs
And you are definitely right - both the seconds hand and the date add a certain something to the appearance of the watch!
It says nothing, yet everything. It wreaks of vintage, but oozes contemporary cool. Fascinating timepiece!
Look at the Logo! Thank you, my friend! Best Blomman
