In this insightful post, WatchProSite member fuigo shares his year-long journey from ordering to receiving his Garrick S5. His experience highlights the unique connection fostered when acquiring a timepiece from an independent watchmaker, emphasizing the personal interaction that defines such bespoke purchases. Fuigo's narrative underscores the value of patience and direct engagement with a brand's founders.

I ordered it (S5) during lockdown last year. Waited patiently and it finally arrived yesterday. I put it on right away.

The ordering process was simple. Soon after placing the order, I was contacted by David, one of the founders. We discussed online about the design. In the end, both of us felt keeping it simple was the best strategy. I didn’t feel the need to have another colored watch. Chatting with David also made the whole experience even better. I learned a lot more about the brand and the people behind it.

Here are some photos taken with my iPhone.

You never really know how it would turn out in person until you actually hold it in your hand.
