Quattro's insightful post delves into the bespoke FVF1 Superligero Tourbillon by FVF Genève, a brand founded by Spanish designer Franc Vila. This article highlights the watch's unique technical specifications and an extraordinary customization: a heptagonal display featuring the names of seven poets cherished by its owner. Quattro's detailed presentation, complete with high-quality images, offers a rare glimpse into high-end independent watchmaking and personalized horological artistry.

FVF Genève is a brand founded by Spanish watch designer Franc Vila: “FVF” stands for “Franc Vila Founder”.

The FVF1 Superligero Tourbillon measures 42.4 x 13.8 mm and features a 60-second flying Tourbillon at 6 o’clock.

Between 10 and 2 o'clock stands a Heptagonal display, which is usually indicating the day of the week.

In this bespoke version, it indicates the names of 7 poets cherished by the commissioner and owner of the watch.

Below the Heptagonal display, a 3D enamel day-and-night indicator is featured.

The FVF1 features a Unibodycase/baseplateconstruction, crafted from Grade 5 Titanium.

By integrating the movement and case into a single structure, the FVF1 achieves both performance and lightness.

Each component of the FVF1 is finished by hand.

The manual winding caliber features a high-efficiency jeweled barrel with 100-hour power reserve.

So, now, let's review each of the 7 poets, in alphabetical order. The photos below are from the actual owner of the watch, known as @thedeadwatchsociety.

1/ Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer (17 February 1836 – 22 December 1870)

Spanish Romantic poet and writer (mostly short stories), also a playwright, literary columnist, and talented in drawing.

2/ Mario Benedetti (14 September 1920 – 17 May 2009)

Uruguayan journalist, novelist, and poet and an integral member of the Generación del 45. In the Spanish-speaking world, he is considered one of Latin America's most important writers of the latter half of the 20th century.

3/ Charles Bukowski (August 16, 1920 – March 9, 1994)

German-American poet, novelist, and short story writer. His writing was influenced by the social, cultural, and economic ambience of his adopted home city of Los Angeles.

4/ Julio Cortázar (26 August 1914 – 12 February 1984)

Argentine and naturalised French novelist, short story writer, poet, essayist, and translator. Known as one of the founders of the Latin American Boom.

5/ Pablo Neruda (12 July 1904 – 23 September 1973)

Chilean poet-diplomat and politician who won the 1971 Nobel Prize in Literature.

6/ Enrique Urquijo (15 February 1960 – 17 November 1999)

this openwork watch with a very modern and technical aesthetic isn't at all for me, but some of us here might be interested. I much prefer the poets too. Best, Emmanuel

I'm just not attracted to openwork dials and watches, personally, so this is not for me, but I find the watch interesting nonetheless. And I quite like the idea of the 7 poets (even if it is a little gimmicky, perhaps)! Best, Emmanuel
