Clueless_Collector (Raymond) shares an exhilarating firsthand account of the first Formula E race in NYC, offering a glimpse into the future of motorsport. His detailed report, complete with vibrant photos, captures the unique atmosphere of electric racing and the innovative technology behind it. Raymond's experience provides valuable insights into how Formula E is reshaping the automotive landscape.

I think it is.

Last weekend, my family attended the 1st Formula E racing in NYC, or 2nd I should say, since the 1st was on Sat 7/15. The location was in Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, Red Hook, because NYC has it's limits for such events.

We got the EMOTION Club tickets for Round 10 (Sun 7/16) and hangout in hospitality area where you can test out VR, driving games. It was a fun packed day with lots of excitement, food, champagne etc.

Most memorable part was able to visit and walk the pit lanes, visit the pit stops and close up interaction with the team, drivers, understanding how they prepare the race cars.

These Formula E cars are heavier than conventional Formula 1 race cars, and the teams have to prepare 4 cars for 2 drivers. One car to race and another to charge, and using dry ice to cool the car, battery area.

While the weather is a little warmer than we wished, it didn't stop the crowd from having an exciting hour watching 50 laps.

After the race, we get to celebrate with the drivers with champagnes splashing all over.

Enjoy the photos.

Thank you for the very funny photos Raymond! Glad you and your family had a great time at the warm event out in Brooklyn. I need to get one of those champagne robots... That'd be useful.

Awesome pictures and seems like it was a very cool event. I'm sure this will be a big part of the future, although I do miss the sounds of the old V12s and V10s.

They sound good too, a little higher pitch whine. I don't think the cylinder engines will go away in our lifetime so no worries, we still get to enjoy them

Even now with the 1.6L hybrid in F1. It's sounded muted. Formula E sounds like Prius racing all ard. Disagreement for sure but guess I'm old school. But i do love the tesla P series and the jag ipace Cheers PAt

Well the technology and green energy consciousness is unstoppable now. The cars look way better than Prius, or should compare it to the Tesla. No worries on the disagreement because everyone have their own opinion. Thanks for looking. Rgds Raymond
