Lankysudanese, a dedicated WatchProSite purist, faced a delightful dilemma when attending the 2021 Formula 1 season's decisive qualification race. Presented with an array of luxury timepieces from his personal collection, he sought the community's expertise to select the ultimate wrist companion for this high-octane event. His post sparked a vibrant discussion, highlighting the intricate connection between horology and motorsport.

I plan to attend the qualification phase of the final and most decisive race of the 2021 formula 1 season, later this afternoon. It’s being held in my city, and my wife won some snazzy tickets through her job…

which leaves me with the conundrum of which watch (from my collection) to wear?

I am hoping that my fellow purists could help me decide

1. Monopusher Chrono and the only watch with the word Sport in its name

2. Some say that a Rolex fits in every situation, and Rolex happens to sponsor F1

3. On the off-chance that Max or Lewis invite me to join the race, a constructor happens to have a car ready, this would fill in for the ubiquitous Richard Mills’s donning the racer’s wrists

4. If a Rolex can fit anywhere, an AP RO can certainly do the same.

5. The best watch for the job, and has the word ‘racing’ in its name.

Let me know your thoughts

Unless you have VIP seats with paddock access, in which case a RM would be a must 😉.

Fortunately, I live in one of the safest cities in the world, so that’s not a concern.

Very clever to see none of what you shown is my type of watch. The closest which i can live with is the AP, albeit good to sell. Most important, you will see a historical race. I make no secret of it, i am for Max and his Red Bull team. Sure, Dr Marco, Adrian Lewy, and Christian are the best F1 sportsmen to support Max en Checko. You can also decide to buy a watch today, and my recommendation for the race is a Omega AT World Timer. The world times stands for the GP’s F1 did this year, and Omega
