Bimbeano recounts a tumultuous 2018, marked by thrilling test drives, a significant car crash, and new automotive acquisitions. His post offers a personal journey through a year of highs and lows in the world of motorcycles and cars, culminating in a renewed appreciation for driving.

It all started a bit slow on the automotive front .... but suddenly there was the 214 hp Ducati V4 Panigale ready to be tested smile by the Bim!

To say the least ... I was truly impressed ... and i survived.

My 'trusty' blue bonkers diesel and the 1M of my friend provided me enough car thrills .... unfortunately my friend had bought a new home with a proper garage to stall his 1M ... one gone ....

.. and a bit later i crashed the blue Beemer against a tree ... leaving me 5 days in hospital ... talking about a close call ... it almost ended my time here.

Anyhow, i had to buy a new car and i got the 280 hp Megane RS (on the left) ...

Although i really prefer the new stunning A110 :-(

So a couple of weeks after i left the hospital things went to 'usual' mode with friends coming over ....

And soon it was time for the Bim relaxing at the beach reading .. a car magazine ;-)

My rental cars in the Holy land are always a bit uninspiring ....

In Tel Aviv my wife spotted this vehicle but i talked her out of it ;-)

Instead i got a testdrive in my daughter's 'brand-new' Fiat Panda ;-)

After returning from my holidays i had some fun with other stuff ....

... and getting in the mood again for some real fast driving .... on a race track off course.

I did a few trips with the bike but i really hope 2019 will see a lot more bike-action :-(

I visited very few events ....

The people at Porsche were very kind to provide us with the necessary alcoholic drinks .... so we got a smoother bike ride home smile

I had to post this picture.

Besides the Alpine there was another great car i really liked and still like a lot ....

Unfortunately the McLaren LT600 is only produced for one year. This is truly the first McLaren (besides the F1 off course) that i really like.

Hoping for a normal 2019,
yours truly,

Bim

About the Alpine Ref. A110

The A110 reference represents a specific offering within the Alpine product line, known for its distinct design characteristics and manufacturing period. This model is recognized by collectors for its particular aesthetic, which sets it apart from other references in the brand's history. Its production run concluded in the late 1970s, marking it as a piece from a defined era of the manufacturer.

Details regarding the case material, dimensions, and the specific movement caliber are integral to understanding the A110. The construction of the case and the type of crystal used contribute to its overall presentation and durability. The movement, whether automatic or manual, and its power reserve are key technical aspects that define its functionality and appeal to enthusiasts.

For collectors, the A110 holds significance as a reference that is no longer in current production, with the last modern examples having been phased out of the catalog. The scarcity of these pieces, particularly those from the final production years, contributes to their appeal in the secondary market. Its place in the brand's lineage offers insight into the evolution of Alpine's design philosophy.

What is the black cafe racer style bike alongside your Multistrada? How do you find the V4? My eyes are still trying to warm to it, it looks a bit chunkier at the front than the previous Twins, but I'll trust your judgement! Glad to still have you sharing these pics with us!

I got to meet you once, i spent over 6 weeks with my daughter in the holy land, i bought one of my dreamcars and my business ran pretty darn good. We will see about the A110 ... if i ever buy it ... the earliest will be like 2022 or so .... unless my dealer makes me a very very good deal with the Megane

I do test a lot of bikes for my friend who owns a Ducati store .... . The black Café Racer actually is the Ducati SCR Scrambler Café Racer that i bought in 2017, it's my only bike (apart from a 1992 CBR 600 in pieces). 800 cc aircooled 75 hp, pretty light but way to tiny for me, but it's a lot of fun on small roads going not that fast. The Panigale V4 is amazing compared to the 'old' V2 1199 or 1299 or a BMW S1000RR for that matter. At very very low speed it just feels like any other 4 cylinder
