Dr No, a long-standing member since 2004, contemplates a significant change to his online identity. He seeks community input on whether to retain his iconic 'Dr No' avatar or switch to a new persona inspired by 'Minnesota Fats' from The Hustler, sparking a lively debate among fellow Purists.

. . . or should I . . .

. . . go?"

Not me, of course - I'm staying put.

It's my avatar in question.  I've been Dr No since forever.   (Actually, November '04, but who's keeping tabs?)

At the time, it was a natural choice.  Not only the play on words - No vs know - but personally drawn to the insidious character.

Fifteen years later, I'm older and more circumspect.  And more drawn to the character Gleason played in The Hustler.  (Notice he's wearing a gold watch on matching bracelet - swanky!)

So, let's have a vote.  Election Day will be December 20th.  Everyone voting for the current avatar, say No.  Everyone for Jackie, say so.

If there's a tie, I'll cast the deciding vote.  If the "no's" have it, I'll have to change my moniker, too.

Perhaps . . .

. . . "Bank-the-8"?

Change is good

Jackie was real; Dr. No fictional. I'd go for the real.

No Dr. No

These days I have the memory of a goldfish. I might forget who you are if you change your avatar!
