The answer to your question is all hand finish.Both sides of the plate are decorated with 'perlage' finish by hand.Also, the bridge and the barrel have the decoration by handβ.

Here again is the plainly finished section, which I don't think they mentioned. Credit to Mike for the picture Maybe this is hand-finished, but plain. That seems likely the case. As I said in the previous thread, I may be mistaken on the machine-finishing, my apologies.

It should be decorated for the same reason the dial facing parts are decorated. As Longfellow wrote: "In the elder days of Art, Builders wrought with greatest care. Each minute and unseen part; For the Gods see everywhere."
