A purist member, Spangles, mentions that Eichi 2 finishing underneath the movement plate is done by machine as he had read from a blog or article. He can't remember where but it piqued my interest to find out more.

I have my friend to ask Micro Artist studio.

Their reply is...

The answer to your question is all hand finish.
Both sides of the plate are decorated with 'perlage' finish by hand.
Also, the bridge and the barrel have the decoration by hand”.

Many thanks for sharing! Always best to go to the source.

Here again is the plainly finished section, which I don't think they mentioned. Credit to Mike for the picture Maybe this is hand-finished, but plain. That seems likely the case. As I said in the previous thread, I may be mistaken on the machine-finishing, my apologies.

Yes...they mentioned to my friend...

all hand finished. I don't see the point of decorating this part. Do you ?

Well, that helps to settle it!

It should be decorated for the same reason the dial facing parts are decorated. As Longfellow wrote: "In the elder days of Art, Builders wrought with greatest care. Each minute and unseen part; For the Gods see everywhere."

But clean circular grain done well is certainly finishing

I would like to see this watch in person for sure!
