Not sure if HoMe or Independents is where this goes. Mods-do your stuff if necessary.

My most recent addition is this very (Very) inexpensive diver from C. Ward.

The watch is the Trident Pro 600 (meters). My understanding is this is the biggest seller for Ward, although I don't have any numbers for production or sales. What makes this a limited edition is the stainless steel bezel. 316 are being made (316 steel-weird, I know). Typically the bezels have ceramic inserts.

My opinion has always been that C. Ward make handsome, if not terribly original, watches and this one really strikes me as attractive.
It is water-resistant to 600 meters-quite nice for those who dive. (I don't.)

It can be ordered on a bracelet, rubber or fabric strap, as shown here. This strap seems to be quite well-made, and very strong and sturdy. The blue matches well with the sea-blue (matte) dial. This dial color has only been used on one other diver-a limited edition bronzo.

The case is 43mm across with a depth of about 14mm. With its width the height is not an issue. The 43 is quite large for me but for whatever reason I don't notice it-it feels good on the wrist and the dark dial probably "shrinks" the size of the case somewhat.

Lume is very adequate.

The pricing is held down at least partly because Ward deals direct with the end-user. All sales are internet-driven. Ward has a showroom somewhere in England but it is only that-a showroom.
Additionally, and although Christopher Ward now has an in-house movement, that movement is only used for a few, dressier pieces. The divers and pilots all use Sellita movements-here the SW200.

Ward rates the watch at +/- 20 seconds a day. I can tell you from my experience with this watch, which I've had for about a month or so now, and a couple others I've owned, that that rating is very conservative. Perhaps 3-5 seconds a day has been what I've found.

The watch does not come with either Gordon's or Swedish Stones. You have supply those yourself.

Thanks for looking!
