SJX's 2009 announcement for Christie's 'Tour de Force Masterclass' in Singapore sheds light on the educational initiatives often accompanying luxury auction previews. This event, focusing on independent watchmaking, demonstrates the community's long-standing interest in horological expertise and the unique insights offered by collectors and specialists like Peter Chong.
As part of its auction preview in Singapore over the weekend of 25 and 26 April, Christie's has organised a series of Masterclasses on Sat 25 April, each dedicated to one of the auction categories: SE Asia Contemporary Art, Chinese Contemporary Art, Asian Contemporary Art, Jewellery and of course, Watches.
The masterclass fo watches will focus on independent watchmaking and it is at 4:30pm. I was to be a guest on the panel as the schedule below notes, but unfortunately I am going on a last minute trip but I have been replaced with not one, but two, panel guests: Peter Chong of the Lange Owners Group as well as an anonymous collector of independent watchmaking who has a mindblowing collection.

RSVP is required for attendance as space is limited. Please email me at with your name and mobile phone number if you'd like to attend.
