KMII provides a hands-on first impression of the Chopard L.U.C Time Traveler One, Chopard's inaugural world timer with an in-house movement. His review, presented during a 20 Years of L.U.C event, offers valuable insights into the watch's design, wearability, and functionality across its platinum and steel variants.

As introduced by our dear moderator MTF recently here ( www.watchprosite.com ) Chopard has just launched its first World Timer with an in-house movement - the Time Traveler One.
[Editor's Note: Officially, it is the L.U.C Traveler One]

And even more recently I was offered the opportunity to try it out (among several other Chopard watches).

Presented during a local 20 Years of LUC event, they were a part of a great cocktail of a wonderful location, fascinating table companions, tasty food and last but not least - very interesting watches smile The picture quality reflects my skill level and the poor lighting but they give an adequate first impression.

Starting with the platinum - it represents perhaps the more subdued colour choice. The watch features time (hours, minutes & central seconds), a world time function and a date hand. It may look a bit busy on the pictures but works very well 'live'. The finish is impeccable and the size is very wearable - the Chopard lug design helps even slender wristed people to pull it off (worked on my wife's wrist just as well). The world time function (operated through the crown at 4) is very slick, with a well defined click and a pleasant feel. The system is different from the button based alternatives but works equally well.

Now to the steel one, which is offered at a very attractive price level, given the same movement and overall design. The black and orange colour combination makes it sportier or more youthful (depending on perspective). I can still picture it very well with a suit - not quite black tie material but elegant enough for a business attire. For those not so keen on / used to the heft of platinum, the light weight of the steel one may be a further advantage. Not a watch you forget having on your wrist but still very comfortable.

Now to the final picture - a watch many here will know and some call their own (well, not this particular specimen wink). Still find it to be one of the most elegant chronographs and simply great overall. The movement may not be as visible in its operation as some other recently released handwound chronos but is wonderfully finished and very modern in terms of specs and performance. But there need to be some targets for the years to come smile

Finally, a great thanks goes to the local Chopard organisation, who have been impeccable hosts and who organised a truly fascinating event to celebrate 20 years of LUC watches!

Thanks for viewing smile
