KMII's post offers a vibrant look at the Chopard L.U.C Sport, highlighting its unique aesthetic and impressive finishing for a sports watch. His detailed macro photography and personal reflections on strap versatility provide a compelling argument for this often-overlooked model. This article explores why the L.U.C Sport, particularly with its striking blue dial, continues to captivate collectors years after its release.

As it is not part of the current rotation, I started missing the LUC Sport and looking at some pictures on my HDD. It was also the first watch I took macros of, which show some of the details. It may not be quite Poincon material but it is certainly very well finished for a sports watch smile

As said, it works well with blue in various combinations. Very happy with how the strap turned out - fits the dial like a glove. Wonder why Chopard did not offer such a combination from the start.

Here another 'blue' combination. Makes for a good driving companion due to its excellent legibility. And the lume gets into action at every occassion, especially on sunny days.

Getting to the movement and to macros. As said, one cannot fault what is essentially a sports model for the level of finish. My macro skills still leave a bit to be desired, though wink

Here another part of the movement. Now you definitely know all the stats wink And that I did not wipe the back crystal before taking the shot...

Here a dial shot, showing the different patterns, the nicely chiselled hour markers and the LUC script on the seconds counterweight.

Here a detail of the lower part of the dial. The angle of the shot makes the minute hand appear bent, which it most certainly isn't. smile

To finish it of, another blue shot of the watch. The case finishing makes wrist shots somewhat harder, as any light strongly reflects of the brushed top of the case. While intended as a sports watch, it works well enough in a more formal setting with the current strap - not quite  black tie but definitely more versatile than on the original rubber strap. You would not swim with it this way but apart from that the combination is truly versatile.

I can only hope that Chopard launches another sporty LUC going forward - it really makes for a very appealing combination. smile

.. you had it with you, when we met, quite some weeks ago. I\'m truly enthused by the dial with its blue hues, when the light is playing !.. Actually your Macros are very well taken, my favs being the two from quarter dial part with that chiseled, (or other technique ?) dial structure.. Really like the whole appeal of this piace, and can understand your fondness.. Thx for this very nice share; hope your vacation will be a good one, also from what I deducted from some future GTG, with you guys ar

On both counts - I did have it with during our GTG and you seemed to like it back then, too And there will be a GTG today, so I will slowly get going for a pleasant lunch I feel Chopard did a wonderful job with this watch but cannot say how successful it was back in the day when new. I guess it works a lot better live than in pictures, or maybe it was too early? In any case, a piece I thoroughly enjoy every time I wear it Great holidays to you too, thanks for your appreciation and hope to meet u

KMII, I missed out on this model the first time round. I like the paradox it presents: that strange juxtaposition of a sporty watch in the L.U.C range. Its like a heavyweight boxer in a pink tutu! Back to your watch; I like the matt finish on the case with the blue diamond-check pattern dial. I played a bit with your original photo..... Chopard would ask two questions: 1) Should there be a Diver-style watch in the Chopard catalogue? 2) Should it be in the L.U.C range or a new division? L.U.C Spo

I agree with your \'Chopard questions\' but I would not go for a diver specifically (like the Pro One has been) but a general sports / everyday watch. 100m WR would suffice and the same or slightly modified movement from the steel LUC XPS 1860? Still, not sure if creating another in the LUC line is best... Would be cool, though
