Sham1's post challenges the classification of a 37mm x 28.6mm Chanel skeleton watch as exclusively a ladies' timepiece, arguing its unisex appeal. The discussion delves into the watch's design, the influence of Romain Gauthier, and broader perceptions of gender in watch sizing and styling.

I would have thought it could be classified as a unisex watch. It measures 37mm x 28.6mm with a height of 8.4mm. It has been made with the input from Romain Gauthier who was also responsible for Chanel's Jump Hour watch as Chanel has bought a share in Romain Gauthier. Now with a stake in FP Journe too, Chanel has the technical know how that few have.

I like this skeleton watch. The finishing is among the best around for a skeleton watch and although rectangular watches and skeleton watches are not as popular as traditional round shaped ones, I think this watch would suit most men's wrists.  The gold used is a beige gold, a paler shade of yellow gold exclusive to Chanel.  The gilded bevels on the outermost frame of the base plate and the sub seconds  emphasize the shape and the immaculate finish of the Caliber 3 movement.

Thanks for reading!  smile

Pure elegance

The influence of Romain Gauthier is noticeable

Quite interestingly the advertisement uses the word 'masculine', yet the watch is for ladies!

I like the English expressions, when it comes to gender

Man and woman. A woman is a -man with WOOOOO! as a prefix πŸ˜€. Back to the watch: the dimensions are fine to call it unisex. Try it on and if you like It, buy it. I deed, a very nice watch!

The question I always ask myself before buying a watch

is usually what else can I do with the same amount of money and in this case it is USD40,600??!! Unfortunately, a necessary question when one has a budget. Laurent Ferrier in steel perhaps or a Groenfeld Principa?

I must confess

that I am not brave enough to buy a watch without trying it on which means I have missed out on some pieces like Rexhep Rexhepi's Chronometre Contemporain. Oh well, can't have them all

A very, very tempting idea, from me now:

Wooomen usually do not buy used watches. I am sure this watch will be bargain on the secondary market ...
