Geo's personal customization of his Cartier Tank Must SolarBeat with a green alligator strap offers a fresh perspective on a modern classic. His choice highlights how a simple strap change can profoundly alter a watch's aesthetic, transforming its character from casual to refined. This article explores Geo's experience and the community's insights into the SolarBeat's design, availability, and technical innovations.

I do not really get Cartier on this one. I would have refreshed the design a little. The technical innovation is quite important yet they do not even write it anywhere on the caseback if I am not mistaken... This will cut some traffic in their boutiques to change the battery though... hopefully they do not shoot themselves in the foot with the longer maintenance intervals (are you never supposed to service it btw?)
The case and the strap were both custom ordered at Molequin in Brussels. The strap doesn't need to be a custom order when a pin buckle is O.K.. but since mine had to fit an older deployant buckle, the strap had to be made to measure. GEO
Actually, any color will look good on the white dial Tank. GEO
because the production is too low for the demand. The Solar-Beat is a model that you need to order, that has to be ordered to make sure you get one. The watch is not discontinued and it is not a limited edition, it is just hard to get. GEO
but I also know them only since a year or two. GEO
I really love the fact that they got back to Tank Louis Cartier design, this is a Tank LC in steel, with a modern movement. I really love it, so comfortable and classy yet casual
