Emmanuel, known as quattro on WatchProSite, presents a compelling visual exploration of the Cartier Roadster, a model he admits falls outside his usual collecting interests. His comprehensive overview, featuring numerous references and variations, highlights the Roadster's unique aesthetic appeal. This article serves as an excellent resource for both seasoned collectors and newcomers to appreciate the distinct design language of this automotive-inspired timepiece.

I've never been very much into Cartier, nor into cars or automotive-inspired watches, but, for whatever reason, I find the design of the Roadster bold and somehow attractive.

Here's a mostly random overview.

Best to you all,
Emmanuel

About the Cartier Roadster Men's 18K Yellow Gold and Steel Watch Ref. W62031Y4

Cartier Roadster W62031Y4

The W62031Y4 represents Cartier's Roadster collection in a men's configuration, distinguished by its two-tone construction combining stainless steel with 18K yellow gold elements. This reference positions itself within Cartier's sports watch offerings through its substantial 43mm case size and mixed-metal composition.

The 43mm stainless steel case features an 18K yellow gold bezel and houses a self-winding automatic movement. The silver dial sits beneath synthetic sapphire crystal protection, while the case construction provides water resistance to 100 meters. The watch is completed with a bracelet construction.

This reference appeals to collectors seeking Cartier's interpretation of contemporary sports luxury with precious metal accents. The two-tone execution and larger case diameter cater to those preferring substantial wrist presence within the Roadster lineup, while the automatic movement and 100-meter water resistance address practical daily-wear requirements.

Don't see many of these around and I did not realize there were so many versions.

This is the first time I've noticed the "cyclops" lens over the date. I have never been bothered by a date magnification lens and find this version of the cyclops kind of cool. Thanks for sharing and expanding my watch knowledge. M4

It also had a quick strap change feature. I had this one back in the day.

I find the non chronograph version to be very attractive and look great on the wrist, the pushers on the chronograph version seem to pronounced to my eyes. I really like the 1st one with the Tuxedo dial, I’d own that in. A minute.

Few designs are as original while remaining somehow classic at the same time. Best, Emmanuel
