Is it really a horological marvel, may be ‘NO’ but then it is driven by calibre 8971MC actually otherwise known as  JLC Caliber 846 !

But the essence of this watch is its powerful design – so quirky it stands the test of times since 1967

….as the title says, You love it or hate it but you can’t ignore it !

The winding feels good but I find the crown a bit small and difficult to hold...

A comparison with the original Crash in black strap (pic credit: Eric Ku)…the reissue (on the right) has same case size and same material as the original (YG) !

you might note the position of the hands @ 10h10 between the watch is much refined in the ‘re-issue’ than the original…

It sits well on the wrist…you get a mixed feel when it is on the wrist – quite unusual that it isn’t the regular round or square case we tend to wear often.

Last but not least, I want to thank a fellow purist (I didn’t name for privacy reasons) who passed his Cartier’s allocation to me, a great gesture of passion & friendship - exactly reflects our passionate community is filled with Pride of gentlemen (& gentle-women too) !

Thanks for reading & have a good week ahead !

Best,

Mahesh.,

Lovely photos Mahesh!

And thank you for post! Many may argue that the Tank is THE Cartier but for me, the Crash is the ultimate Cartier. It stands out like no other watch and it stands out in a nice way. The watch is not about the movement but more about a masterpiece in design which is perhaps why it has been so sought after and has performed well at auctions. Enjoy your new 'family' watch!!
