AnthonyTsai presents the official press release for the 2012 BVLGARI BVLGARI collection, celebrating 35 years of this iconic design. The article details the subtle evolution of the model, focusing on three new feminine variations that reinterpret its timeless aesthetic with noble metals, mother-of-pearl, and diamonds.

What can be said about a model which, for the past 35 years, has remained more contemporary than ever? The answer is simple and obvious: it has acquired iconic status well beyond the reach of time and the volatile tastes that often render watch designs out of date, sometimes within a very short space of time. At the opposite end of the spectrum of such a fate, Bvlgari Bvlgari, launched in 1977, is one of the rare intangible models that continues to push back time borders.

Feminine and discreetly sophisticated,

Bvlgari Bvlgari remains more contemporary than ever

At that time of its release, this creation was to overturn watch design codes with its bezel engraved with the double Brand logo – a first that testifies to Bulgari's inherent gift of foresight and which heralded the birth of what is now a widespread tendency. Today, Bvlgari Bvlgari is as on-trend as ever, and is pursuing the subtle evolution it has steadily undergone over the years.

The three new feminine variations presented in 2012 reinterpret the model in a 37 mm case featuring a distinctively structured cylinder-type design. They combine the serene strength of a line distinguished by a pure, restrained aesthetic, with the elegant refinement of noble metals associated with mother-of-pearl and diamonds. Resolutely in touch with the times and representing contemporary emblems of the original spirit that inspired the birth of Bvlgari Bvlgari 35 years ago, these three new interpretations reaffirm the intangible modernity of the model. Two of them come with a 37 mm steel case fitted with a steel bracelet featuring a sophisticated construction, along with alternating polished and satin-brushed finishes of the various elements. It is seamlessly fitted like an extension of the delicately softened lugs, creating an impeccably smooth flow.

Both models are graced with a mother-of-pearl dial on which the hour-markers are applied for the first version, and consist of brilliant-cut diamonds for the second. The third Bvlgari Bvlgari 2012 variation displays a combination of metals: a steel case middle topped by an 18-carat pink gold bezel, and a bracelet composed of alternating gold and steel links.

Bvlgari Bvlgari 2012 is powered by a mechanical self-winding movement that is circular-grained and adorned with a Côtes de Genève motif.  Calibre B77 drives indications of the hours, minutes and seconds, as well as a date window for the steel version with mother-of-pearl dial and applied hour-markers. All three models are set with a cabochon-cut tourmaline.

A quintessentially feminine and sophisticated expression of a modernity that has endured untouched since its introduction, Bvlgari Bvlgari epitomises a wealth of sophisticated creativity entirely in keeping with the spirit of a House that has consistently cultivated a unique relationship with women.
