First look at Bulgari's 2014 Baselworld releases, including the ultra-thin Octo, updated Bulgari Roma, and Serpenti models, showcasing the brand's horological advancements.

Here are some of the stunning new watches seen at Baselworld 2014 at the Bulgari exhibit as I walkabout.

Yes that is thin.........

This super complicated Bulgari would be fine for an admiral. It has constant force mechanism, marine chronometer-style escapement, column spiral and four gong Westminster chime minute repeater function.....egads!

Can you guess where the minute repeater "pusher" or "slider" is?

No? it ain't got one! For 30m water resistance...something else was done.

A lot of air around the movement too for sound quality and to emphasise the four gongs.

Best seller Serpenti is updated

New BZero.1 with better straps and contemporary finish.

My old BZero.1 is a little dated now........

New Lucea or LVCEA range incorporates four different motifs from the Bulgari history to create the impossible: a contemporary iconic watch that is merely round.

I phoned to Bulgari today to have the price and well... my enthusiasm decreased a bit! Anyway, what a pleasure to see the ROMA without the date display! Fx
