Patrick_y, a seasoned contributor to WatchProSite's automotive discussions, introduces the new Bugatti Tourbillon, a hybrid hypercar that redefines performance and luxury. His initial post delves into the vehicle's staggering specifications and its horologically inspired design elements, setting the stage for a deeper exploration of Bugatti's latest masterpiece. This article synthesizes community reactions and expert insights, offering a comprehensive look at how this automotive marvel resonates with a discerning audience of luxury enthusiasts.

Mate Rimac, the young Croatian electric car wunderkind who is now the managing partner of Bugatti (after VW offloaded a portion of the company to Rimac) has introduced the next Bugatti.  Called the Bugatti Tourbillon - this machine will be stupefyingly quick and a work of automotive art at the same time.   The name Tourbillon is not related to the Breguet-invented mechanical horological accuracy enhancer.  The name is inspired by tornadoes, and the French word for tornadoes is Tourbillon.  France does get a few tornadoes a year - mostly in rural parts.

The car will have impressive statistics.  1800 horsepower.  8.3 Liter V16 (not W16) completely naturally aspirated will produce about 1000 horsepower.  Three electric motors (it is a Hybrid) will produce about 800 horsepower.  Combined, the computer allows a maximum output of around 1800 horsepower at specific times in specific gears.    Top speed of the Tourbillon is 267 miles per hour.  The Chiron (Chiron is the predecessor to Tourbillon, the Chiron was preceded by the Veyron, which was preceded by the EB110) had a top speed of about 261 miles per hour (although a specially outfitted race car version went 304 miles per hour).

The instrument binnacles look horologically inspired and watchmakers did work on them.

At least one WatchProSite member has owned a Bugatti to my knowledge.  And more than one owns the Bugatti Belt buckle from Roland Iten.  Anyone like what the brand has done here?  I have had the pleasure of driving the Veyron but not the Chiron.  And I'm excited to see the new Tourbillon in person.  While I'm not a fan of hybrids - I prefer the unparadoxical car - all electric or all ICE, I do especially like the idea that the engine is naturally aspirated.

I also covered the Rimac Electric Car on WatchProSite.  You can see that here:

About the Automotive Ref. EB110

The Bugatti Tourbillon, introduced by Mate Rimac, represents a new chapter for the Bugatti marque. This model is positioned as a high-performance automotive art piece, succeeding previous Bugatti models. The name "Tourbillon" is inspired by tornadoes, reflecting its intended speed and power rather than a horological mechanism. It signifies a departure in naming convention while maintaining the brand's focus on extreme engineering and design. This reference marks a significant release under new leadership, aiming to redefine the ultra-luxury hypercar segment.

Details regarding the specific watch reference EB110 are not directly provided in the input text, which discusses an automobile. Therefore, watch-specific technical specifications such as case material, case dimensions, and movement type are not derivable from the provided text. The description focuses on the automotive product as presented in the input, which is a car named Bugatti Tourbillon.

For collectors, this reference, if it were a watch, would be relevant for its association with the Bugatti brand and its new direction under Rimac. Its appeal would lie in its connection to a significant automotive development, potentially attracting enthusiasts of both high-performance vehicles and luxury timepieces. Without specific watch details, its place within a horological collection would depend on its design and mechanical attributes, which are not detailed in the provided text.

Easily my favorite Bugatti design so far. The fact that the ICE is naturally aspirated is particularly enticing. I agree with your statements, I have that puritanical mindset as well, but also see no problem with combining ICE and electric propulsion to tremendous effect, as is evidently the case here.... Rimac is truly at the top of their game, I am especially impressed knowing how much the region they are from struggled industrially for decades........ Thank you for the report Patrick, cheers,

looks like a re-bodied nevera.... the chassis is definitely the same as a nevera.

And the Veyron and Chiron were already achingly beautiful cars.

V16 would be an interesting sound.
