Only Watch has started to show this year’s pieces unique, and this Breguet Type 20 got me almost a stroke!!! If this is any indication of what we may see as a successor to the discontinued Type XX next year, 2020 will be the year of Breguet!

Love everything about it except...

The crown. It's just a bit over the top and seems out of place on the watch. I'm not an expert on Breguet Type XXs, is there a precedent somewhere in the history of the Type XX for such a crown?

Answered my own question

Apparently this is an exact re-edition of the original Type 20, crown included. Obviously showing my ignorance of the Type 20.

Yes, it is the same than the one of the FG 54. [nt]

Aviation gloves are thick, you need a crown like that for them

Back when cockpits were cold, and watches like this were important to getting home safely.

Right, I realized the rationale behind the crown

Same thing with the IWC Big Pilot, I just didn't realize the original Type 20 had such a crown. The photos I've seen of Type 20s (or probably XXs) had a more conventional crown.
