Subexplorer's long-awaited acquisition of the Breguet Tradition Ref. 7027 in rose gold offers a compelling look into the enduring appeal of this horological masterpiece. His personal journey to finally owning this reference highlights the deep connection collectors form with watches that echo historical designs. This article delves into why the 7027 continues to captivate enthusiasts, drawing parallels to its 19th-century pocket watch inspiration.
This watch has been haunting my horological soul for many years.
I had a couple of chances of owning it during all these years but for one reason or another I couldn’t make it mine.
Now a couple of weeks ago I was lucky to be offered this watch and making a good deal with this 7027 rose gold example full set in NOS condition and jumped on it.
It’s a marvelous watch! Mesmerizing to view its movement happily working while having it on my wrist!
I feel Breguet made a wonderful job designing this wristwatch based on an original pocket watch made in the early 1800’s by the Master himself. The similarity is striking!!
I’m really excited and happy with this timepiece and wished to share it here today!
Cheers! Abel
