Dear all

Today, I am the proud owner of a brand new Breguet, which I purchased from a local AD here in Singapore.
I started looking for a steel watch in steel bracelet some months ago (all my other watches are too delicate to be a "daily beater") and compared the typical choices of an AP RO, PP Nautilus, VC Overseas, Breguet Marine and Blancpain FF. In the end, I feel in love MOST with the Breguet Marine. My small wrists also meant the AP RO was not so suitable for me (except the 37mm one).... alas, I won't be able to complete my trinity collection (I have a VC and PP unless I consider my Lange Dato to complete my trinity) but that is another story....

I have always loved Breguet (it has always been a contender for me when I got my VC, PP and Lange) and never imagined I would get one of their "sports" models instead. BUT the Marine has a dial to DIE for. I could look at the blued steel Breguet hands and beautiful guilloché dial for the whole day! It is as beautiful to me as their dressy watches yet also robust enough for me to wear it often (esp in humid Singapore where my leather strap watches are less suitable to wear out in the sun), swim with it (100m WR) and has a great looking marine-style gold rotor.

The steel bracelet is comfortable and a bit on the dressy side (those who prefer a sporty look will probably prefer the AP RO and VC Overseas bracelet). For me, I prefer classical/dressy looks, even on my "sports" watch so this Breguet Marine's bracelet is perfect for me. It is a perfect blend of classical/dressy looks on a "robust" watch being in steel and with WR of 100m good for swimming. I understand the FP movement can be more delicate than a Rolex or Omega but I am not intending to be rough with it anyway, so this is still ok.

Some wrist shots to share (one of which taken when I was crossing the road - too dangerous when mesmerized by the watch!). Enjoy!

Cheers,
robin wong

That is a very beautiful watch and ...

It carries almost everything that made Breguet a modenr classic. Congratulations, enjoy this beauty and, please, post macro shots of the dial. From you pictures, I can see that is gorgeus but the details should be fantastic. Cheers, Nilo

Great choice, Robin.....

The dials on the Marine series of watches are fantastic. Do you think you would ever get the rubber strap for a completely different look? Bill

Rubber Strap....

Hi Bill Thanks for the compliments. Actually most people tell me the Marine looks nicer on rubber strap and the bracelet clashes with the sporty looks. However, I prefer steel bracelets to rubber and hence focused on the bracelet pieces (same for AP RO, VC Overseas, etc). I did try the rubber strap Marine too. For me, as my wrists are small, the black rubber didn't suit me that well. The Marine has long lugs which almost made the watch wear too large for me (the case diameter is ok but the lugs

You made a great choice. I bought mine in March with the rubber strap. Originally, I wanted the bracelet but it just didn't look right. There is a new bracelet that will be available in about 3 months. Enjoy your watch!!!

Thanks and the rubber strap is great and even more popular

We both made great choices! I must admit I took awhile to warm up to the steel bracelet too but grew to like it in the end. The rubber strap is much more popular here from what I noticed . Thanks for the tip that the new bracelet is coming for the Breguet Marine! I will look forward to it and I am sure it will bring out the best in the Marine. Cheers Robin Wong
