The redesigned version of the 5717,  the 5727 WT is inserted into the mix?  The new WT is thinner by 1.1mm at 12.6mm and smaller across at 43mm versus 14.4mm.  The 5727 dial is 4 different hand done guilloche patterns versus the solid gold dial with continents of the world and wave patterns of the 5717.  The 7077chrono won out versus the 5717 but does the redesign of the 5712 change your mind?  I love the moon/sun (am/pm indicator) on the 5717 but question the waves on the dial, I like the smaller size of the 5727, the guilloche dial and you don’t have the question of should the dial be the entire world instead of different continents like the 5717? The 7077 is a different chrono than any other and simply something to behold on both sides of the watch, the operation and the movement are the best.  Thanks for your thoughts …Jim

About the Breguet Héritage Ref. 5717

The reference 5717 represents Breguet's offering within the Héritage collection, featuring an oval case configuration that distinguishes it from conventional round watch designs. This particular reference occupies a specific position within Breguet's contemporary lineup through its distinctive proportions and rose gold construction.

The watch houses an automatic movement within an 18k rose gold case measuring 42x35mm, indicating an oval or tonneau-shaped profile. The silver dial is protected by sapphire crystal, while the fixed bezel maintains clean lines around the case perimeter. Water resistance extends to 30 meters, positioning this as a dress watch rather than a sport-oriented timepiece.

The 5717 appeals to collectors seeking Breguet's interpretation of classical watchmaking within a non-circular case format. The rose gold construction and silver dial combination provides a traditional precious metal presentation, while the automatic movement offers practical daily wear functionality. This reference serves collectors interested in Breguet's contemporary Héritage line who prefer alternative case shapes to standard round configurations.

What is the size of the older 5717WT? In which metals the 5717 WT exist? I know Jim, you search that for me.

The other models are fine but the 5717 is truly kinetic art

The older one is larger at 44 mm vs 43mm and higher at 14.4 mm vs 13mm. However there is a new Hora Mundi coming out next year and I don’t know the details of it yet …Jim

That being said, I have very thick skin, want to hear any option/opinion and always want to garner all the information I possibly can. I am told there is a new Hora Mundi that was supposed to come out before the end of the year but he has been delayed until next year. The dealer is trying to get me a picture of it, which of course will help my decision making process. If I like the new one better I may get the 7077 chronograph and wait for the New World timer. Enjoy your weekend sir… Jim

The waves on the dial give me pause. Some others that have commented seem to think having specific continents, instead of a world map is a negative but I don’t feel that way, I would probably have to see one with the waves on the dial to make the decision. Thank you very much for your thoughts and enjoy your weekend… Jim
