AndrewD invites the WatchProSite community to share their top picks from BaselWorld 2014, highlighting a diverse selection from Chopard's L.U.C. Qualité Fleurier to the audacious Jacob & Co. Astronomia. This article captures the initial excitement and varied preferences of collectors as the dust settled on the year's major watch fair.

As the dust starts to settle, what has caught your eye from BaselWorld this year? While we have to work from press releases and impressions from our 'reporters' at the fair, there are a few standouts for me:

L.U.C. Qualité Fleurier, the essence of Chopard in a beautiful 39mm case.

Girard-Perregaux Neo-tourbillon - modern architecture (and size)

The Tudor 41mm Ranger – an attractive and affordable watch with a robust workhorse ETA 2824.

Jacob & Co. Astronomia – time redisplayed.

Voutilainen Tourbillon

There are others of course, but I want to hear what your favourites are?

Andrew

Andrew....for me:

1) Omega SM300....just a winner of a watch. 2) Rolex GMT..... yes, it has a drawback in priciness that is a shame, but against that a GMT on white gold is special. The bezel makes this watch a fabulous tribute to the past GMT glories. 3) Rolex Sea-Dweller.... ski nice to have a Sea-Dweller where I don't need to employ someone to help lift my arm for me. This one is a direct tribute to SD glories of the past and has some superb twists to it. I think my favourites are perhaps atypical....i love to

+1 here for all three choices but the WG of the GMT intimidates me

As a fan of Omega, I welcome quite wholeheartedly the Seamaster 300. The Rolex SD is superb from the pics. Surely I will like it more than the Deepsea even though that may just be a personal preference. I am very surprised to click on the first response and it happens to be all my choices for Baselworld 2014. Thank you. Ruckdee

It was a great Basel fair to me this year

Very interesting and appealing watches from many brands. But I would select: The best novelty for me technically and aethetically (but of course I'm biased here...). Usually difficult to find a very different spirit in the movement of a chrono, here it is the most interesting and different since long. DB29 Maxichrono Tourbillon DB28 Maxichrono A watchmaker I really like, who wants to improve movements and goes straight to the point (efficiency). And a very nice style here for sure. Hajime Asaoka
