KMII's post captures the pure joy of an unexpected snowfall, transforming a routine drive into a memorable experience. His reflections on the nuances of winter driving, particularly with European winter tires, offer a relatable perspective for automotive enthusiasts. This piece highlights how even familiar conditions can bring fresh excitement and challenges.

I might have mentioned in a post or two the past few days that I am very much hoping for snow. Having become used to it being a reliable feature of life from October onwards I miss it here, where you can never tell when or if it will appear.

Finally today was the day πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ¦Ύ While I spent the first hours of snow walking with very inappropriate shoes and then cooped up in a podium discussion, the drive home was great fun. Not the drifting β€˜dab of oppo’ see the world through the side window type of experience, since the particular country tends to make such shenanigans very expensive and since I had a wife and very tired kids inside but it was a start 😊

And I hope it stays till tomorrow, so more fun can be had. Although the snowplows might get rid of most of it unfortunately πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

I also realized today how much less grip European winter tires have compared to soft compound ones - but that means more sliding and fun at lower speeds.

The car looks like it has a grin on its face, too πŸ˜πŸ˜‰

Sadly the car is no longer in production and currently there’s no successor. The current top of the range is the E53, which doesn’t have the full AMG treatment for one and as a result of the hybrid drivetrain a tiny boot, too.

Like a kid around the holidays , for snow ❄️ Maybe a white Christmas after all πŸŽ„? Not here in New England, it was 60 degrees the other day! And we are getting into the final week of November! Sweet ride, enjoy!
