In a delightful departure from traditional luxury discussions, bimbeano shares his passion for collecting Hot Wheels, demonstrating that the thrill of the hunt and the joy of acquisition transcend price points. This article explores how a seemingly simple hobby can offer profound satisfaction, echoing the sentiments of many collectors who find joy in unexpected places. bimbeano's post reminds us that the spirit of collecting is universal, whether it's a rare timepiece or a miniature car.

Many of you probably know the Hotwheels.

Cheap, but well made 1/64 scale cars, packed in a very cool plastic and cardboard.

Most of the Hot Wheels are fantasy cars (non existing) but they also have a lot of real existing cars.

And most of them are epic models, German, JDM, French (not many) , Italian, American etc ... .

The hunt for Hotwheels is a big adventure and there are so many interesting places you get to visit smile :
Aldi
Wallmart
Tedi
any big warehouse has them in their racks ...

The reward when coming home is getting to admire your newly acquired treasures.

Talking about epic models:

They even have this epic key-chain ...

It certainly looks better than the 800 USD 'real deal'

The coolest one is the bare metal keychain.

I hear you all coming ! Collecting cheap kid toy cars is ridiculous. So no worries, I'm keeping the big toys and might buy one of those as well in the near future.

More examples of my hunting ...

Prices vary from 1,50 € (1,18 USD at Wallmart LOL) to 15 € or there abouts.

Heck ! You can even enjoy them while lying in your sofa watching tele smile

You can drink as many beers as you wish without risking to loose your license !

Oh ! Here we are again, In between collecting these toys I bought a real Ducati, albeit it a very old one.

Sometimes I have the impression it's getting kinda out of hand, that's what Salman told me : Be careful my friend, it'll get out of control smile.

No Howheels but another brand. Same size though. I bought these because HW doesn't make a lot of Renaults, certainly not my Megane.

Never grow old my friends, change your workspace into HotWheels heaven ;-)

My wife says I'm nuts but I don't care ...

.. and neither does she as well smile

I love the Carrera RS, white, yellow, orange and red. They're pretty hard to find.

So my advice to Salman:
Go out and I wish you a good hunt ;-)

Which I think is a reference to the real life variant seen in testing here: And I am also a big fan of Hot Wheels more generally. I try to collect my very favourite cars, like these German models here: Porsche (Carrera GT, 997 911 GT2, 997 GT3 RS), Mercedes (Gullwing, C63 Black, C-Klasse DTM), Audi (S4 8D) Close up on the Gullwing... The C63 Black Series has great details... But the C-Klasse DTM...now those are some details. Hope you enjoyed.

hard to discern. I cut a couple of them in half at an angle so one half could be turning into a black "tunnel" and then further down the wall it's other half (painted a different color) was coming out of the tunnel. The only one I have now amongst other gauge models is the one you started with. Renown 787B Le Mans winner. The ultimate screaming banshee! I still can't walk by a display of them without stopping and looking for a rare gem to buy!

The mainline cheap models are already well made but the more expensive ones are something else. The C-class is amazing, I saw it a few weeks ago and didn't buyout ... shame on me. My absolute favorite is the DTM 155 V6 Ti .. it's also one of my favorite (real) cars as well, point ! I bought this beautiful 964 a few days ago, I really like the way it's executed but I think the scale isn't correct. It seems bigger than the regular ones.
