Jocke - Bad Santa's original post, provocatively titled 'No automatics. 😂😂', sparks a lively debate among WatchProSite members about the evolution of driving. His image of a classic manual gearbox serves as a powerful reminder of a bygone era, prompting collectors to reflect on the role of driver engagement versus modern convenience and technology in high-performance vehicles. This discussion explores whether contemporary driver aids and automatic transmissions dilute the essence of true driving skill.

Perhaps smart men chose a Mercedes Benz.
And don't get me started on your smart men comment.
For me technology is about going faster…going better…probably true with everything in life but I do lament the loss of some skills as I get ….not younger…
Or honestly, for a grocery getter. But for a fun, backroad car that involves you in the whole process, I still favor a manual. I’m fortunate to have both in the fleet; DCT, 5 and 6 speed manuals. The manuals aren’t as fast but considerably more involving and fun. “You pays your money and takes your choice” Kent
