Nicolas (amanico) revisits the original Audemars Piguet Starwheel from 1997, a 36mm platinum reference that continues to captivate collectors. His post sparks a discussion on the Starwheel's enduring appeal, its unique display, and the various iterations that have cemented its place in horological history. This article explores why this 'wandering hours' complication remains a significant piece for Audemars Piguet enthusiasts.

I mean the first one, from 1997. In platinum with a 36 mm case.

Just gorgeous, even if I must admit that I prefer the Millenary in steel, which has more " cool factor ", in my opinion.

I'd get the platinum version with the engraved dial, it's the perfect blend of classic elegance and quirky design

IMHO star wheel is most cosmically gorgeous in millenary. It feels like looking at stars in elliptical orbit.
