Amanico revisits the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Juan Pablo Montoya, a reference he considers a personal favorite and a 'blast from the past.' He shares his initial 'love at first sight' for its racing-inspired design elements and discusses the different metal variations, offering a nostalgic look at a significant Offshore model.
The blue one really made me fall in love! It looks very elegant.
This piece, a 44mm or 42mm like RB2? Actually I have been offered this piece after I bought my RB2 but with a white dial, doesn't look right. However I love the carbon fiber dial and the pushers.
It will definitely feel and sit much more better
straps made-to-measurement and they cost the same as standard straps. Furthermore, they are taking the measurements at least in the service centres and it's possible to order the strap through them. In general people do not use enough the bespoken straps but rather are unsatisfied "with the comfort of folding clasp" etc. With correctly measured strap basically any watch feels good on the wrist. Best, Kari
I was always impressed seeing the titanium version. It is seriously undervalued considering its unique design. I also loved the spider-web-like strap. Thanks for sharing Nicolas!
I have written about it before; the Montoya really broke the box and opened up the avenues for future Offshores. Do I prefer it to the Rubens Barrichello II? No. But I fully admit the Montoya is the one that deserves the credit for paving the way.
