Peter (pfang56) shares his latest acquisition, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak "Jumbo" Extra-Thin (ref. 16202) with a BMG red dial, alongside his classic blue dial 15202. His post offers a unique side-by-side comparison, highlighting the BMG's remarkable lightness and scratch resistance, and sparking community discussion on the evolution of the iconic Jumbo.
Happy to bring a small part of the Jumbo family together. No doubt, the classic blue dial is phenomenal and I always have a preference for the classics, but the new BMG Red Dial is a younger, brighter, and lighter sibling.
I shared before how light the BMG felt - and now I know it is around 90 grams, some 30 grams lighter than the SS (a 25pct weight reduction) and is the lightest Jumbo model to date. I'm curious to see with the introduction of chroma forge - can you imagine one with the new material?
Cheers
Peter
